VR Fitness Games For Windows Mixed Reality

Windows Mixed Reality users can now enjoy access to VR games on the SteamVR platform. If you don’t have it on your WMR headset already you can download it on Steam here during their Early Access release.

We’ve found Windows Mixed Reality fitness games that will have you gaming towards better cardio, muscle tone, and good times. Have fun getting your sweat on!

Space Pirate Trainer

You’re on a futuristic platform shooting, dancing, and coordinating at the same time. This first-person shooter has an electronic soundtrack that will have you blasting away groups of flying droids and sweating while you’re at it.

Fitness Potential

This game looks like Tron and Space Invader got together and created this VR game. While playing SPT, you’ll need to have good squat form to dodge the laser beams being rapidly blasted at you. Use your shield to take less damage from incoming attacks and keep your guns fully loaded for maximum shooting. You’ll experience waves of enemies that grow in number and difficulty that will work on building your stamina if you’re a die-hard VR fitness gamer.

Developer/Publisher: I-Illusions

QuiVr

Pretend you’re a heroic archer whose goal is to aim and shoot arrows at incoming enemy hordes and strategic targets. Play alone or compete against other players as you gain levels and unlock abilities like Scatter Arrow and Chain Lightning to attack enemies. The more you play this game the more you’ll unlock new types of quiver sets like Quiver of Wealth to boost your range and damage.

Fitness Potential

This is an upper body dominant game that focuses on the arms, shoulders, chest, and back. If you want more of a muscle building challenge you’ll want to try wearing a hand/wrist wrap weights to provide some drag or to simulate the weight of the quiver. Walk or jog in place during any downtime to increase your heart rate and burn calories. QuiVr can double as a multiplayer co-op game you can use with your friends to help keep everyone motivated.

Eternity Warriors

This is an action-packed first-person combat game that will have you pitted against some mean looking demonic enemies. You’ll be blocking, shooting, slicing, and destroying waves of horned beasts and threatening monsters as a single player or in multiplayer and co-op mode.

Fitness Potential

The two classes that have the most impact on fitness are the Warrior and Hunter. As the Warrior, you’ll be fighting using a shield and sword, and your upper and mid body to fight demons. If you’re the Hunter you’ll be using a bow and arrow, which also relies on the upper body. If you want a boost in difficulty, try a weighted vest to break through workout plateaus.

Developer/Publisher: Vanimals

Compatible with: HTC Vive, Oculus Rift, Windows Mixed Reality, with tracked controllers

Price: $9.89 to $14.99

Holodance

If you love music, dancing, and are looking for a cardio game on Windows Mixed Reality, Holodance is your game. There are 12,000 songs in the Holodance world that are designed with beat maps that correspond to your movements. Orbs will appear and it’s your job to catch them to gain points and pile on the combo hits!

Fitness Potential

To get the most heart-pumping cardio out of Holodance, you’ll need to play fast-paced songs that will keep you moving. Having graphics move towards you at a fast pace will seem like a lot at first, but keep playing to see that you have more control than you think. Moving your controllers to move along with the beat of a song will do a great job at confusing muscles. Because you won’t have Vive Trackers on your feet, you’ll want to keep your feet moving to the beat for more cardio and lower body activity. Staying stationary won’t get you results, but dancing will!

Developer/Publisher: narayana games UG

Compatible with: HTC Vive, Oculus Rift, Windows Mixed Reality, with tracked controllers

Price: $10.04 to $14.99
