During our last VR Game Roundup, there were several interesting games highlighted including Solaris Offworld Combat, a rhythm shooter, and several PlayStation VR ports. This week’s VR Game Roundup is a bit light in quantity but features two notable releases and a fitness favorite coming to more headsets. Headlining this week are Star Wars Squadrons, The Walking Dead Onslaught, and Until You Fall arriving on additional platforms.
Star Wars Squadrons
Kicking off this week’s VR Game Roundup is Star Wars Squadrons, the latest Star Wars title to hit virtual reality. While this isn’t designed exclusively for VR like Vader Immortal, Squadrons supports most PC VR headsets and is on PlayStation VR as well. This starfighter title allows fans to live out their dreams of piloting Star Wars vehicles and engage in dramatic space dogfights. Battles are five-on-five and there are several game modes, such as dogfight, fleet battles, and a campaign, that have you completing different objectives as a team. With plenty of customization, there is a lot of replay value to be had.
Fitness Potential
While virtual reality makes this space shooter more immersive, it doesn’t turn it into a fitness title. You’re still using a controller or a mouse and keyboard just like you would normally and just seeing the action in VR. It’s a cool mode, and Star Wars Squadrons has a lot of potential, but it just isn’t a game to play when you are looking for a solid workout.

The Walking Dead Onslaught
Another major new release this week is The Walking Dead Onslaught. Based off the hit AMC television show, you get to play as Rick, Daryl, Michonne, and Carol. You will be able to interact with the cast while using 24 different weapons to dismember and take down zombies. There’s a campaign story starring Daryl, which features a supply run gone wrong, so fans of the series will want to check it out for its story at the very least.
Fitness Potential
Unlike Star Wars Squadrons, there is a lot of fitness potential in The Walking Dead Onslaught. Since the action game has you taking on plenty of undead creatures, you will give your arms a great workout as you use melee weapons and guns to wipe out your foes. However, it is worth noting that early reviews have been on the negative side when compared to The Walking Dead’s previous VR entry, Saints & Sinners, so you might want to play that instead.

Until You Fall
New to PlayStation VR and Oculus Quest is Schell Games’ Until You Fall. As noted in our review, this arcade-inspired action RPG has plenty of replayability due to it incorporating roguelite elements. Each run has players receiving randomized rewards and different powerful weapons to use. It’s one of virtual reality’s best games, and it’s great for fitness as well.
Fitness Potential
With a ton of replayability and gameplay that really tests your reflexes and mind, Until You Fall is excellent for workouts. It will work both your core and arms as you battle foes, although your legs won’t get much of a workout. With it now being on every major virtual reality platform, this is a must-own for fitness fans.
