This Week’s VR Game Roundup — Shoot, Shoot, Shoot, and Jam!

FULLCHOKE

Clay pigeon shooting with a shotgun may seem easy to the inexperienced, but it is anything but. In FULLCHOKE, you’ll get to test your shooting skills in a variety of settings. Knock clay pigeons out of the air with pinpoint accuracy, modify your weapon, and test it on stationary targets to view your shot spread. It sure will save a ton of money before you try out the real thing at a shooting range!

Fitness Potential

Clay pigeon shooting is all about reflexes and quick target acquisition. This is the case in FULLCHOKE, as well. When you let a pigeon into the air, you’ll have just a fraction of a section to bring your weapon up and fire a shot. This is done with the tracked motion controllers, so you’ll be moving your arms around frequently during gameplay.

Unlike the previous game on this week’s roundup, World War 2 Winter Gun Range VR Simulator isn’t just for practice. In this game, you’ll have the chance to try out era-appropriate weapons on targets. However, you’ll also have to mow down waves of the undead. You’ll got to locations like laboratories and wastelands, all packed full of hungry undead.

Fitness Potential

As a defending game of sorts, you’ll have to be extremely quick with operating your weapons. As zombies approach, you will need to be able to use your controllers to switch between them and reload. If they get too close, you might have to get creative and dual-wield weapons to take them down in time.

Battle Dome Redux

A fast and competitive multiplayer shooter, Battle Dome Redux is an improved version of the original Battle Dome. Here, you compete in five-versus-five battles in a futuristic setting. It has some Splatoon influence, as you’ll be spreading your team’s color around the map. Here though, you can then use it for teleportation and getting the edge on your enemies in battle.

Fitness Potential

In Battle Dome Redux, enemies can attack from nearly anywhere. Using your tracked motion controllers and headset, you’ll have to be fully aware of your surroundings to take them out. When you receive incoming fire, you can duck behind cover to protect yourself, which will certainly get your legs burning quickly. Thanks to duel-wielding, you can also pop out of cover and fire at two enemies with your arms in opposite directions.

Cubeland VR

Cubeland VR is a great choice for anyone just getting into virtual reality. Its mechanics are simple, requiring just a few different actions. You’ll be looking for and launching bombs at your targets, and trying to avoid getting hit. If you don’t want to hit an enemy with bombs directly, you can also launch them at the terrain they’re standing on. This will cause it to give out and send them falling to their doom.

Fitness Potential

Your main action in Cubeland VR is throwing using the tracked motion controllers. You will need to do this quickly in order to catch your enemies off balance and destroy the ground underneath them. You’ll also need to do so in order to avoid having your own terrain destroyed. With teamwork, you can strategize and plan your throws ahead of time to defeat the enemy.
