Superhot VR Gets Free Boxing Day Update That Adds A Festive Endless Mode

We’re huge proponents of Superhot VR at VR Fitness Insider. It’s one of the best low-intensity workouts around and will help work your entire body as you exercise. Now the innovative shooter that sees enemies only move when you move your body is getting a holiday-themed update for free.

Called the Boxing Day update, it adds in a new endless mode that incorporates a unique scoring system. To suit the holidays, the mode is holiday-themed and has a festive soundtrack to boot. As you can see in screenshots, there are plenty of Christmas trees and other holiday cheer to be seen as you are outsmarting enemies and luring them into firefights.

New to the mode is a scoring system, which ties into the new leaderboards for Superhot VR. Players will get points for punching enemies, dodging gunfire, pulling off stylish shots and more. You’ll be able to compare your scores against players worldwide and your friends as well.

To access the new content in the Boxing Day update, you will have to have finished Superhot VR (which only takes a few hours to do and is a great game in its own right). Once you have completed all of the main levels, you will find an endless floppy disk in the hacker room. Just load that up and select the Christmas tree to begin playing.

The update is available on PlayStation VR, HTC Viveport, Oculus Quest, Oculus Rift, and Steam. The Superhot Team notes that the PSVR version of the game is also receiving a ton of “fixes, improvements and optimizations” in the update. PC players can expect similar tweaks.

Superhot VR has a fitness rating comparable to walking by the VR Institute of Health and Exercise and won our Best VR Shooting Fitness Game of the Year in 2017. It’s playable on Valve Index, HTC Vive, Oculus Rift, Oculus Quest, Windows Mixed Reality, and PlayStation VR. The innovative first-person shooter is currently available on Steam for $24.99.
