Oculus Quest and Rift S Silicone Covers Available for Purchase Now

If you use your VR headset for the purposes of working out frequently, you’re likely aware of how much of a godsend a nice cover for the device can be. This is something we’ve spoken about here in the past at VR Fitness Insider, and if you haven’t invested in a nice one already, it’s something you absolutely should do.

Fortunately, for those with Oculus Quest and Oculus Rift S headsets, new covers for both platforms are now available for purchase. Coming by way of VR Cover, a company that specializes in selling add-on accessories for VR devices, a new slate of covers for both the Quest and Rift S have now been made available. Both new additions are relatively cheap via the website and retail for $14 apiece.

Each respective cover for the Oculus Quest and Rift S are made up of silicone materials that are meant to be wiped down more easily. Additionally, they are designed to be “hypoallergenic and safe on the skin” meaning that even if your skin is more sensitive than most, you shouldn’t have a harsh  The VR Cover website describes these handy covers as, “It feels soft, yet offers a good grip due to the unoiled surface. It also helps to prolong the shelf life of the foam by protecting it from normal wear and tear.” With both being non-absorbent and washable, too, it’s easy to keep them in good shape for longer periods of time.

So just how do these protective devices for your VR headsets attach and work? Well, in the case of these newly-designed iterations for the Rift S and Oculus Quest, each has been specifically made to fit the form factor of each appliance. After removing the front facial portion of each headset, you can then slip these covers on before then reattaching the initial part. From here, you can begin using the VR headset as normal and should find that the overall experience is much more comfortable and easy to clean. Plus, since your skin will be making less direct contact with the VR hardware itself, it won’t get as oily or dirty, meaning that it will be kept in nicer shape over the years.

If you’re interested in snagging one of these covers, for your own kit, you can pick up the Oculus Quest version here or snag the Rift S iteration right here. Again, if you work out quite a lot using VR, I cannot recommend enough that you start using one of these yourself. It makes a massive difference in the long haul.
