Step into the ring and punch a robot chef in the face! For that matter, punch all the robots and drones in the face for a higher score. This single player boxing VR game is compatible with existing Hardlight VR vests (pre-order for $299 in their store)! So you’ll get to feel all the fun haptic sensations like robot punches and weapon hits! You can even customize your Mech League robot fighters to look as intimidating or silly as you want.

Fitness Potential

Mech League Boxing is a great combination upper and lower body game and even triples as cardio! You won’t get bored easily with this game because it has both training and warm-up routines, boxing matches, as well as weapons like futuristic staffs and other vengeful hardware. If you like VR boxing games check out Thrill of the Fight, Fastest Fist, and BOX VR and other high-intensity games.

BlackShield: Upora Story

BlackShield is a Vive Developer Awards winner for Best Game and is a first-person action shooter where you’ll be fighting for your life and to save the universe. While you’ll be riding giant beats and shooting artillery from a Gatling bunker, hear some storyline, and solve puzzles, this VR game will make you fight with guns and bare hands.

Fitness Potential

The puzzle solving and riding parts won’t necessarily count as exercise, but the combat scenes like shooting at robots and massive mechanized beasts, and ripping people apart with your hands will do the trick! Add weighted hand wraps to get a more intense upper body workout and really squat to hide behind objects for more lower body conditioning. If you want more cardio, add The Fastest Fist to your VR fitness regimen!

Release Date: January 11, 2018; Available January 12, 2018

Compatible with: HTC Vive, Oculus Rift, Windows Mixed Reality, with tracked controllers

Westard

This early access game is set in the Wild West, where bandits and cowboys are running amuck. Play solo, co-op, or with multiple players online, as you hold up a bank or fight in the streets to claim the town. Use your revolver to shoot other players or to shoot at waves of old-timey challengers looking to take away your loot.

Fitness Potential

Ducking, squatting, and lunging behind objects during shootouts is going to work the lower body. Shooting is going to be a light to medium workout for the upper body but can be increased in intensity with weighted hand wraps. The player versus player mode is going to likely give you the hardest workout because people are unpredictable and can come shooting from any direction. For more VR combat games that double as adrenaline pumping exercise check out Sword Master VR and Gorn.
