Ashes of the Ark

Zombies in space or Ashes of the Ark is a single player FPS that also has puzzles to solve. Pick up ammo and equip yourself with realistic weapons as you make your way around the Ark station. Go face to face with space zeds in campaign objective/story mode and survival mode for gameplay variety. Explore and search the ship as you gather ammo and look for life (sleepers).

Fitness Potential

Shooting interstellar zombies in campaign mode on board the Ark will keep your arms and upper body tough if the combat scenes require fast reaction times and occur often. Survival mode is your best bet for a heftier workout because of the unlimited ammo supply you’ll be reloading and spraying down zombies with. To get the most out of leg movement use room scale to walk around, scavenge, fight and survive.

Developer/Publisher: The Burning Red/Demsum Games

Release Date: June 27, 2018

Compatible with: HTC Vive, Oculus Rift, with tracked controllers

Viking Days

Train like a Viking, beard and all. Throw a newly sharpened ax, practice your arrow blocking skills, hit a drum, fight some beasts and call it a day in the life of a battle-tough warrior. Heck, have a few rounds of virtual beer and then practice your coordination and balance by crossing bridges and celebrate by burning down a ship. Players can interact with the world like they would with Job Simulator, so picking things up will add more immersion to environments.

Fitness Potential

Sharpening and throwing axes, blocking arrows with your trusty shield, taunting and then fighting foes and beasts will give you a good full body workout. Throwing objects, combat, and blocking with the shield can get your core moving when you tighten the abs and obliques during those motions. Moving around in room scale will give your step counter some action too if you make it a point to duck behind rocks and structures or fighting and moving around.
