Free Creed: Rise to Glory Update Adds Classic Rocky Characters

‘If he dies, he dies’ in the latest Creed: Rise to Glory update

Creed: Rise to Glory is embracing its Rocky roots with the latest free content update. The Rocky Legends update, which is available across all supported platforms, adds some of the most iconic characters in the series’ history.

Available in the Freeplay and the online multiplayer modes, the new characters added to Creed: Rise to Glory are Apollo Creed, Clubber Lang, Ivan Drago, and classic Rocky Balboa. Apollo Creed is the father of Adonis Creed, and was featured in the first four films. Ivan Drago eventually dealt him a killing blow, and it’s Drago’s son who makes an appearance in the film Creed II.

The characters are all available as playable fighters in the Freeplay mode, or you can choose to battle them. They’re also all playable characters in online play, so you can relive the films’ biggest moments against your friends. You can also match up against with random opponents using Quick Match. On PlayStation VR, you’ll also get the bonus outdoor Walcott Bowl fighting ring.

In addition to the Freeplay and online modes, Creed: Rise to Glory includes a Career mode. It stars Adonis Creed as he trains with Rocky Balboa to become a feared boxer. The game makes use of “Phantom Melee Technology” to mimic the feeling of being staggered after taking a powerful blow to the head. Blow-tracking also means that location matters with your punches. Locations in the game include Mighty Mick’s, which was first featured in the original film, as well as Creed’s Front Street Gym.

Creed: Rise to Glory is available on Oculus Rift, HTC Vive, and PlayStation VR. A previous update in November added Viktor Drago and Danny Wheeler as playable and fightable characters. Wheeler previously appeared in both Creed films. Big baddie of the first Creed “Pretty” Ricky Conlan is also available in the game.
