BOXVR, CREED: Rise To Glory and Many Other VR Fitness Games Coming to Oculus Quest

Oculus Quest gives VR fitness enthusiasts the chance to enjoy the virtual reality experience without being tethered to a system or wires. It’s shaping up to drastically alter how we work out in VR, and at PAX East, Oculus gave us a test of the games we can play. These are the best VR fitness games announced for Oculus Quest.

Creed: Rise to Glory

We’ve covered Creed: Rise to Glory extensively on VR Fitness Insider, and for good reason. Using a combination of buttons and your own punches, you box against virtual opponents as the young fighter Adonis Creed. It’s an intense VR experience that could work well in a real gym, making Oculus Quest an ideal platform.  It also allows you to pick a space without any obstacles, which is a must!

BOXVR

BOXVR is a boxing game like Creed: Rise to Glory, but that is where the similarities end. The focus here is on fitness above all else, complete with workouts designed by fitness experts. The game allows you to track your fitness progress, and there are workouts for all skill levels. Even if you’re just a beginner to VR fitness, there is something you can complete in BOXVR.

Beat Saber

One of the most popular games available in virtual reality, Beat Saber tests your rhythm and timing in addition to your fitness. As symbols race toward you, you must swing your arms like  they’re lightsabers in order to destroy them and get the best possible score. These swinging motions could very easily get a player twirled in a mess of cables if they were using a normal VR headset.

Dance Central VR

The king of dancing games makes it triumphant return in Dance Central VR. Developed by Harmonix, Dance Central VR will make full use of your arms and legs, just like the original games did on Xbox 360 and Xbox One. These include running in place and other more vigorous movements.

Rec Room

A sort of virtual hangout game, Rec Room can be whatever you make of it. If you want to engage in more physical games like paintball or throwing Frisbees, you totally can. You can also spend time dancing to the beat with your friends, and voice chat means you can more easily coordinate your moves.

And much more

These aren’t the only games coming to Oculus Quest. Several other titles will also hit the portable VR system, and we’ve listed them below:

  • Superhot VR
  • Racket Fury VR
  • Sports Scramble
  • Robo Recall
  • Face Your Fears 2
  • Dead and Buried 2
  • Vacation Simulator
  • Journey of the Gods
  • Moss
  • Windlands 2
  • Space Pirate Trainer
  • Vader Immortal: A Star Wars VR Series – Episode 1

Other games that appear to be coming to the system but were not confirmed explicitly by Oculus include Keep Talking and Nobody Explodes, Eleven Table Tennis, and Fruit Ninja.
