Blaston is a New PvP Shooter from Resolution Games Releasing in 2020

Following its work on titles such as Acron: Attack of the Squirrels, Angry Birds VR: Isle of Pigs, and the forthcoming Cook-Out, A Sandwich Tale, developer Resolution Games has now started to tease its next VR project.

Blaston is the name of Resolution’s latest offering and it once again is focused on co-op/multiplayer gameplay. Pitched as a PvP shooter, Blaston will see you taking on your friends or other opponents in a neon-lit arena where you’re each trying to utilize various weapons to blow the other away.

Resolution Games has released a brief, 30-second trailer for Blaston as well which shows off the game’s colorful visuals. We also get to see two of the different character types that Blaston will feature, both of which look to potentially be customizable. The video doesn’t feature actual gameplay, but some aspects such as a scoreboard seen in the background seem to indicate that each match will be composed of a series of rounds.

Perhaps best of all, Resolution says that Blaston will be indeed be a game that will keep you active and moving about. The game’s official description says it will challenge players “to stay in constant motion and blast their opponents with incredible precision using an assortment of high-tech, futuristic weaponry.” So not only will Blaston potentially be a great game to play to keep in shape as you dodge and weave past enemy fire, but it’s a title you can play with a pal to ensure that they stay active, too.

Not much else is known about Blaston at the moment, but more information should be coming down the road. Currently, Resolution says that Blaston is planned to launch before the end of the year. Release platforms haven’t been disclosed as of this writing, either, but given the studio’s track record, a launch on Oculus headsets seems likely.
