Audio Trip
Audio Trip offers up one of the best leg workouts in virtual reality since you will need to get out of the way of barriers. As long as you actually squat instead of duck underneath them, you’ll get a great workout in that you will feel the next day. It’s one of the best overall workouts as well, as it targets your core and arms as well. If you’re looking to target your whole body with one game then this is the one to pick up.

Beat Saber
Another one of the best leg workout VR games is one of the medium’s most popular titles, Beat Saber. Similar to Audio Trip, this has you avoiding walls that come at you while taking care of beats with your arms. Depending on if it’s a vertical or horizontal variant, you’ll have to either squat below or side step away from them to avoid getting hit. Either way, you will have your legs burning by the end of the play session.

While there are a variety of upper-body workouts, and the game always has some punching involved, there are also some excellent leg workouts included. These have you adding some variety to the fitness boxing workouts by squatting as you will need to squat after throwing some punch combinations. It is a great workout and one that will leave you exhausted afterward.

An oldie but a goodie when it comes to the best leg workout VR games is Holopoint. This archery title will force the player to dodge incoming lasers. To make this a fun workout, try squatting each time you dodge one and run around while keeping your legs bent. It winds up providing a great leg workout that will target your hamstrings and glutes. This is another great overall workout as it also tests your core and arms.

Hot Squat 1 & 2
As one of the few games that are specifically made to target your legs, Hot Squat is an easy recommendation. While you won’t get any arm exercise in, this virtual reality title will make your leg muscles ache after doing a series of squats. Competitive types will be glad to know that there are leaderboards, so you will be pushed to better your best score of consecutive squats. There’s also a sequel by the name of Hot Squat 2: New Glory, which features cardio and squatting exercises. All of the Steam profits of that release go to charity, so there’s a good reason to check it out.

Knockout League
While it is true that your arms will get the bulk of the workout in Knockout League, it is also a surprisingly great leg workout as well! Footwork is key for any good boxer and you will have to squat in order to duck under punches during fights. You will also start to feel the burn as you practice doing mitt work as you’ll be ducking and dodging punches from your trainer. It’s one of VR’s most enjoyable workouts and has plenty of fun mini-games if you want to keep your exercise on the lighthearted side.

Pistol Whip
Another one of the best VR leg workout games is the recently released Pistol Whip. Pairing shooting with rhythm elements, it winds up targeting player’s legs by forcing them to move in order to dodge bullets. That means that you actually get a better workout by performing worse in-game as you will be forced to dodge more bullets from enemies you failed to take out. It’s a great exercise and makes up for the arm workout leaving something to be desired.

PowerBeats VR
PowerBeats VR is one of the most intense workouts that players can experience in virtual reality. Not only does it provide a satisfying arm workout due to it forcing you to punch incoming objects, but you will need to move around in order to get at them. Throw in needing to avoid walls as well, and you will find yourself squatting, sidestepping and even jumping if need be. This is an excellent balanced workout.

Song Beater: Quite My Tempo!
This virtual reality rhythm game is a blend of boxing titles and Beat Saber, but there’s also an alternate mode that allows you to use a bunch of weapons such as phasers, blades, and a staff. Either way, you’ll get a great workout in as you punch objects and move your body to the rhythm of the song. There’s a helpful tracker that will tell you how many calories you’ve burned as this was made with fitness in mind.

Superhot VR
Not only is Superhot VR one of the best leg workout VR games, it’s one of the best virtual reality titles in general. This unique shooter operates on the basis that time only moves when you move. Since you have to bend your body in order to dodge the bullets that are flying your way, you will get a great low intensity core and leg workout. Considering how most of the games have you working out at a quick pace, this is a refreshing way to go at your own pace.
