HomeStop a Zombie Apocalypse & Reach Your Fitness Goals

Stop a Zombie Apocalypse & Reach Your Fitness Goals

Staying motivated while exercising can be a challenge for a lot of people. The fitness technology company ARX is creating ways to help people stay addicted to achieving fitness results. They have created a headset that uses augmented reality technology to superimpose graphics and games over the user’s reality. Their mission is to turn exercising into a game.

When the user has the headset on, they have access to track their workout routines or to get entirely immersed into one of the game modes. Imagine yourself doing squats, and a game comes up on the headset where zombies are coming toward you. The only way to stop them is to perform squats. This movement shoots fireballs that are launched at the incoming zombies. The player is scored on every zombie hit. The more zombies, the more squats the player does. Scores are tracked and can be shared with friends. Players can also challenge each other which brings in the competitive social side of the game.

The company also created a companion mobile app that records all your statistics from reps and sets completed to your personal best scores.

This type of technology is a game changer when it comes to entertaining your mind while doing boring exercises.  I’m looking forward to seeing this technology grow and helping people achieve their fitness goals.
