This Week’s VR Game Roundup — Play an FPS, Archery, and Soccer Game!

Space Pirate Trainer

PSVR users have been waiting for this console release for a hot minute. Step onto the Space Pirate Trainer platform and get your guns, lasso, and shield ready for droid attack. They’ll swoop in and blast you with lasers so pay attention to how you use your shield or dodge out of the way.

Fitness Potential

PC space pirates have felt the rush of dodging lasers and a surge of pride when they fire lasers at droids flying through space. Now, its PSVR’s turn! Virtual Athletics League recently held a global esports tournament with SPT for an FPS arcade shoot off. This is a great upper body game and leg day game when you dodge instead of shield.

Developer/Publisher: i-illusions

In Death

Enter into a medieval afterlife where souls, knights, monks, cherubs, and demons are there to devour your soul or to send you back to respawn. This is a procedurally generated dungeon crawler that hands you a crystal teleportation shard, a long bow, crossbow, shield, and specialty arrows to poison, multishot, and more.

Fitness Potential

In Death is a light to mid range upper body game with its use of archery as the main method of attack. It isn’t hard to pretend that these soul hungry foes are real and can see you. This is because they respond so quickly to your presence no matter how stealthy you think you are. Duck to hide and look around corners to give your legs something to do instead of standing there like a baby cherub statue.

Developer/Publisher: SOLFAR STUDIOS EHF

Release Date: November 27, 2018

Compatible with: PSVR, with tracked controllers

Price: $23.99 to $29.99

Goalkeeper VR Challenge

Get in front of the goal as one of the most pivotal roles in soccer — goalkeeper! Block, catch, and parry soccer balls so they don’t make it into the goal. Their site says you can block with your arms and even your head. Soccer fans will clock in a lot of field time with 12 unique game modes and won’t have to wear gloves, shin guards and cleats to do it.

Fitness Potential

If you like to play as goalkeeper or pretend to be one this is your type of VR game. Get your goalie gloves up and get to blocking and striking balls with your head. Use the width of the goal and your play area to move back and forth and get your legs lunging. Make sure your space is clear and be careful with your neck.

Developer/Publisher: SneakyBox

Release Date: November 28, 2018

Compatible with: HTC Vive, Oculus Rift, with tracked controllers

Price: $6.99
