This Weeks VR Game Roundup – Go From a Virtual Jog to a Punch Pad Workout!

Punch Pad Workout

Credit to: vrgamecritic

Use it as a memorization game or as a coordination and a boxing workout. Punch Pad Workout has 3 rounds of punching numbered pads in different combinations. The faster and more accurate the hits the better off your score will be on the leaderboard. The only thing that’s missing is the resistance of the pad or mitt.

Fitness Potential

This punch pad sim is the same as focus mitt training except it’s in VR. Punch like lightning and be swift about landing the uppercuts and punches that are in opposite corners. Keep your dukes up as you keep a fighter’s stance. Training with focus mitts and punch pads can help you improve your blocking, endurance, aim, and timing in other boxing games.

VR Jogger

Go for a walk along 3 trails in this single-player walking sim. This is a VR game that stays on the trail — no free walking or roaming around. Walkers or joggers will hit trails in the countryside, by the coast, and other areas with giant stone heads that look like they’re from Easter Island.

Fitness Potential

Has 3 trails: short (4 mins.), medium (7 mins.), long (14 mins.) that players can walk along. The movement system VR Jogger has doesn’t require leg movement. It only needs arm swings to move forward and is customizable to have one or both controllers. So, you’ll want to walk, jog, do high knees in place or be seated and move your arms to get the most out this walking sim.

Goalkeeper Legend

This indie goalie sim puts the player on the field at the net in 4 tournaments: FA Cup, Champions League, Europa League, and the World Cup. It looks easy enough to play, it’s set in room scale and you can move side to side in that space to shut down soccer balls from making it in the soccer goal.

Fitness Potential

Being a soccer goalie requires timing and moves the upper and lower body for blocking and stealing the ball when defending the net and the area in front of it. We’re not sure the pacing of this goalie sim, but moving the arms and using your goalie stance to move side to side will help.

GrabBag

Catch anything you can with this single player coordination game. Set on a platform, players move down the street at Mardis Gras, along a trolly, along a futuristic cityscape, with objects flying towards them as they move along a platform. Whatever flies at you, grab it.

Fitness Potential

This is a straight-to-the-point grab items game with some obstacles that pop up to throw you off your gathering game. Bob away from trash, make sure to smash orbs, catch all the Mardis Gras masks and cooking items you can. These items stagger in down the platform at different heights but we’re not sure about how fast things are flying past.
