Check out the VR Game Roundup for May 7 below:
Demeo
This week’s VR Game Roundup begins with Demeo, which is a classic tabletop role-playing game in virtual reality. This dungeon crawler will test your skills. There’s a free demo, so you are able to give it a look before buying and make sure it’s right for you.
Fitness Potential
You’re placing virtual cards to survive in this role-playing game and rolling dice, so don’t expect to get a workout in. It is a great test for your brain, though, as you will have to be smart if you are going to come out on top.
Developer/Publisher: Resolution Games
Release Date: May 6, 2021
Compatible With: Valve Index, HTC Vive, Oculus Rift, and Windows Mixed Reality.
Price: $29.99

Flow Weaver
Released earlier this year on Oculus platforms, Flow Weaver is a magical escape room title. Now on Steam, even more players can learn spells as they switch between dimensions in order to escape a jail cell they are locked in. You’ll be able to find different clues in each dimension and find objects that will aid your escape.
Fitness Potential
This is a fully seated title, so this won’t be much of a workout. However, it’s received solid reviews and is a fun game if you’re looking for something to test your brain.
Developer and Publisher: Stitch Media and Silverstring Media
Release Date: May 3, 2021
Compatible With: Oculus Rift
Price: $19.99
Link: Steam
The Wizards – Dark Times
One of the biggest releases this week is The Wizards – Dark Time, which is now available on Oculus Quest, and is the best workout game. This sequel takes place during a plague, which means even more fearsome enemies to go up against with your magic spells. Everything is done through hand gestures, which makes for a very physical experience.
Fitness Potential
Our review of the original The Wizards gave it a fitness score of 7/10, so you can expect around the same here. It’s got a solid presentation, a lot of atmosphere, and plenty of variety. It’s a solid arm workout as it uses your arms and shoulders, although there’s not much in terms of legs and core. If you enjoyed the original, then this is certainly worth picking up.
Developer and Publisher: Carbon Studio
Release Date: May 6, 2021
Compatible With: Oculus Quest
Price: $24.99

Imercyve: Living with Intellectual Disability
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XEXhuhwvni8
Developed in partnership with the non-profit Mercy Connect, it attempts to build empathy by simulating a disability. You’ll experience first-hand what it’s like to do everyday tasks with a disability. Proceeds also go to aid more development on games that explore “essential physical and mental health subject matter.”
Fitness Potential
While not a workout game, this is a meaningful mental experience. That’s certainly worth experiencing and at less than $7, it doesn’t break the bank either.
Developer and Publisher: Valley General
Release Date: May 5, 2021
Compatible With: Valve Index, HTC Vive, and Oculus Rift.
Price: $5.94 ($6.99)
Link: Steam
