OhShape and Synth Riders Offer Prize Pool and New Content for VR Fitness Summit

During the VR Fitness Summit, Odders Lab and Kluge Interactive will offer new content, tournaments for each game, and a collaborative $500 prize pool for participants who play any song on both OhShape and Synth Riders while registered for both tournaments.

The VR Fitness Summit isn’t the first time Odders Lab and Kluge Interactive have collaborated. In June the two studios joined forces to host a community competition that featured a new map available for both games.

During the VR Fitness Summit event, five qualified participants have an opportunity to win $100 if selected from a random drawing with a $500 total prize pool.

In addition to the random drawing, there’s a prize pool for the top three competitors in the tournament for each game as well as other special news.

OhShape

The VR Fitness Summit, which launched on August 10, came just few days before OhShape celebrated their first anniversary of early access on August 15. In recognition of the anniversary, Odders Lab has announced a special update that will include content and features requested by players.

  • There will be a new environment with a refreshing new stage based on an ice planet world. Odders Lab has stated that this will be the first of many more new environments to come.
  • Twenty achievements covering different difficulties, scores, playtime, distance covered, etc. will enable players to easily monitor their progress in game and the most competitive players are certain to enjoy comparing achievement with their friends.
  • Three new songs have been added to the OhShape playlist so there are now 28 official maps.
  • A new onboarding screen will welcome new players more clearly and directly to help make their first experience in the game a rewarding one.

OhShape is a game with a great community eager for new challenges,” states Daniel Matas, Marketing Manager at Odders Lab, adding that he’s certain the tournament “will test the skill of our players in a fun and spectacular way.”

Synth Riders

When we’re having fun, time seems to pass more quickly. Synth Riders is a great option for music lovers who want to exercise and disengage from the world for a while. Just hop into the game, choose your song, and start dancing your way to better health. Even if you’re already healthy, rhythm games can help you relax and mentally recharge.

Synth Riders is a game you can play and after half an hour you don’t even know you’ve been exercising,” stated Abraham Aguero, Creative Director and Co-Creator of the Game.

“You can get lost in the music and get fit at the same time,” he adds, “because you’re playing and burning calories.”

Aguero points out that there’s also a great original sound track that comes with the game. In fact, a new music pack called Cyberpunk Essentials was just released from Kluge Interactive a few days ago that includes songs from Riot, Tokyo Machine, and Nitro Fun.

Calorie Tracking

One last note about Synth Riders and OhShape is that both games engage your upper and lower body. They’re intended to be standing experiences that encourage a cardio workout with full-body movement.

The games also feature YUR tracking tools, including the YUR.Watch, conveniently located on your wrist in game so you can see your progress as you work out.

As VR enthusiasts, we need to be realistic and admit that to the average consumer who isn’t familiar with VR, it sounds kind of silly to say they might enjoy freestyle dancing while punching shapes on rails or moving to the rhythm of a beat while forming shapes with our body like a child tries to imitate the pose of a statue.

However, rhythm games in VR allow you to leave the stresses of life and simply be immersed in another environment for a while. An enjoyable activity that encourages physical movement is ideal for a fitness routine because it’s something you just want to do.

We encourage you to take advantage of the collaboration between Odders Lab and Kluge Interactive during the VR Fitness Summit so you can improve your health while you have fun and try to win some cold hard cash!
