During my daily VR news hunt, I stumbled across a Fast Company article of the 10 most innovative virtual and augmented reality companies of 2020. One of the companies mentioned in the article is called Within. They started in 2014 and have been producing amazing VR story-based virtual and augmented reality content.
Within mentions, they are working on a new VR fitness training application called SuperNatural VR. So far, I don’t have much to go on, but if the game looks anything like the photos they are posting on their Facebook page, the game could be gorgeous. Their website has a beautiful background image of a mountain with the copy “Powerful beats and music. Top trainers. Beautiful places. A workout you enjoy.”
I’ve reached out to learn more about what they are building and am hoping to gain early access to the game soon.
If you’re on Twitter, you might have noticed people tweeting about working out in VR and burning a lot of calories. Here is one tweet with beautiful landscapes in the post. The images look similar to what is on the SuperNatural VR Facebook page. More discovering to do!
Day 31: Completed a full month straight working out in #VR testing a new project w/ incredible personal trainers. Over 40k🔥cals burned on a monthlong streak, down 10+lbs, and I just SMAAASHed a 90+min victory session for FUN!
Excited for @Oculus Quest users to see this soon! 🤘 pic.twitter.com/X5Xlm9u6ax— Job J. Stauffer is on an Immersive Fitness Journey (@jobjstauffer) April 1, 2020
It’s cool to see all these posts coming out now. Job Stauffer was one of the original transformation stories we highlighted on VR Fitness Insider. He lost over 60lbs playing Soundboxing VR.
We will keep you posted on any new information about SuperNatural VR. Let’s hope it’s as good as it looks and delivers a great workout.
