Teams Head to Paris Games Week for After-H Arcade VR Esports Tournament Finals

After-H Arcade Tournament playoffs came to an end this past week and four European After-H teams are headed to Paris Games Week to compete in the semi-finals for a prize pool of 5,000 euros.

A VR first-person shooter set on a futuristic Mars, After-H was developed by French team smartVR. First launched in arcades, last month the game came to home headsets via Steam and Viveport. It’s supported by major headsets and can be played in over 200 VR arcades worldwide.

Group Stage

After-H Arcade Tournament Group Stage took place October 16-17 through online competitions at a team’s chosen arcade. Results from the group stage, set up with a round robin format, determined seeding for the playoffs. Below is a list of participating teams and results:

Group A

  • Arcade VR
  • Les Explorateurs
  • VRality H-Mechs
  • Pulsar-REIV
  • After Tasty

Group B

  • Failen 9
  • Piou Piou
  • Team TDS
  • Le Nautilus
  • FuturistGames
  • Out of Reality

Playoffs

During playoffs, the eight top teams competed in a best-of-three single-elimination format, although none of the matches went to a third game. You can watch coverage of the playoffs, or quarterfinals, on the smartVR YouTube channel.

Teams advancing to the semi-finals at Paris Games Week are:

  • Team TDS
  • Pulsar-REIV

Paris Games Week

A trade fair held annually at the Paris Expo Porte de Versailles, Paris Games Week (PGW) promotes the interest of video game developers.

Where to Watch

You can watch the After-H Tournament on the smartVR Studio Twitch Stream on November 2 from 1 p.m. – 4 p.m. Paris time.
