iFly Soars Into the Sky With How to Train Your Dragon VR Experience

How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World arrives in theaters on February 22, but if the big screen doesn’t give you enough of Hiccup’s adventure with Toothless, the skydiving company iFly has something else for you. A new How to Train Your Dragon VR experience is available now, offering you the chance to soar through the world as if you were a dragon.

Head to Berk for a flying adventure

iFly’s How to Train Your Dragon VR experience puts you inside a vertical wind tunnel, simulating the act of skydiving without the fear of actually jumping out of a plane. You can pick between Hiccup or his partner Astrid, and you spread your arms as and replicate the movements of Toothless. The loveable Night Fury also makes an appearance in the experience, and you’ll have an instructor guiding you during your flight. The company uses the Gear VR headset, which is hooked up to a safety helmet.

You can add the How to Train Your Dragon VR experience onto an iFly flight package for $86.95. It isn’t available at all locations, so you’ll want to call ahead and find out if your local iFly center is running it. iFly has locations in the United States, Brazil, Australia, Great Britain, and New Zealand.

If DreamWorks animated films aren’t your thing, iFly also offers two other VR experiences. You can choose between skydiving from famous locations all over the world, or base jump in an alpine wingsuit. iFly also offers non-VR flights and instructors will perform their own air show after you’ve gone into the wind tunnel.

How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World is the final film in the series. We were able to see it during an early Fandango showing, and it more than lived up to our expectations. Two other films and a television series across Cartoon Network and Netflix are also available.
